All of these words perfectly describe the vision of Dominique’s School of Dance located in Gibsons, BC. Offering a variety of dance disciplines including Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Acro, Tap, Hip Hop, Kinder Funk, Parents & Tots and Kinder Dance, our Sunshine Coast Dance School thrives on being a truly special place to learn to dance and to express oneself. Not all dance studios nurture or even value self expression, at Dominique’s School of Dance we bring it into everything we do. When our school opened over 15 years ago it was said, “The warmth of the logs and the breathtaking view will enhance the creative environment at the Sunshine Coast newest ballet studio. Located approximately 1 km from the Langdale ferry terminal you will find the beautiful Log house that will soon house Dominique’s School of Dance”. We still run classes from that same location today, but have added two other spaces in Gibsons and Grantham’s Landing.

Dominique Hutchinson, founder of DSD, started her training in Montreal where she was ordinary kid that loved to dance. Her first ballet teacher, Claire Duhamel was instrumental in the support and encouragement of her dance creative self. In Claire’s studio, creative dance, improvisation and choreographing was a common occurrence. While training for many years with various great teachers and fellow dancers, Dominique discovered just how truly important the values and practices she learned in their studios were.
